Tour Highlights

Morning Departure:

• Begin with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Fez.
• Set off on a scenic drive toward the Middle Atlas region.

Journey through the Sais Plateau:

• As we leave Fez, drive through the fertile Sais plateau, Morocco’s agricultural heartland, filled with olive groves, wheat fields, and fruit orchards.
• Spot the first foothills of the Middle Atlas Mountains as we ascend toward our first destination.

Stop 1: Imouzer

Our first stop will be the small provincial town of Imouzer, famous for its Apple Festival each September and its vibrant Amazigh culture.

• Many locals here speak their native Amazigh language, distinct from Arabic.
• Explore the picturesque surroundings with a visit to Dayet Aoua, a beautiful volcanic lake. Here, you’ll have the option to enjoy a quick horse or donkey ride along the lakeshore.

Stop 2: Ifrane (The "Switzerland of Morocco")

Climbing higher into the Middle Atlas Mountains, we’ll arrive at Ifrane, a charming mountain town known for its European alpine vibe and nickname, "Switzerland of Morocco."

Why Switzerland?

• At an altitude of 1,665m above sea level, Ifrane experiences significant snowfall in winter.
• Its sloped rooftops prevent snow accumulation and give the town its iconic charm.

Summer Charm:

• In warmer months, Ifrane draws visitors for its clean air, lush parks, and stunning scenery.
• Visit Al-Akhawayn University, one of Morocco’s most prestigious institutions.

Ifrane National Park:

• Explore ancient cedar forests and keep your eyes peeled for Barbary apes, a key highlight of the park.
• Enjoy a delightful local meal at a traditional restaurant during our visit.

Stop 3: Azrou (The Ancient Amazigh Capital)

Next, we’ll visit Azrou, a beautiful mountain town located at 1,250m above sea level and nestled within the Middle Atlas Mountains.

• Known for its cedar forests, diverse wildlife, and Barbary apes, Azrou offers a true nature escape.
• Explore the old town center and embark on a relaxing walk through the nearby forests and natural surroundings.

Return Journey:

After a full day of exploration, we’ll drive back to Fez, concluding our journey through the Middle Atlas and returning you to your accommodation.
