On this 5-day private tour from Fes to the Sahara, you will have the opportunity to explore the stunning Atlas Mountains, the lush green landscapes, and the local culture and traditions. On this private tour, you will start by driving towards the majestic Atlas Mountains and stopping in the village of Ifrane to explore the famous cedar forest and observe the Berber apes. After that, we will continue our journey through the Tiz Ntalghamt Mountain Pass and the Ziz Gorge, where we can take some pictures and enjoy some refreshing mint tea. From there, we will head to Midelt before continuing on to Merzouga, where we will have dinner and spend the night at a local Riad.
On this day of the tour, you will have the chance to explore the desert region surrounding the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will see the nomadic way of life and the striking contrast of the desert. We will visit the black village of Khamlia, where you can enjoy the music of the Gnawa. For lunch, we will savor a traditional Berber pizza in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the late afternoon, we will ride camels to watch the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in a desert camp. We will have a traditional Tagine dinner, sip on refreshing local mint tea, and listen to traditional Berber music around a campfire while gazing at the stars and the rising moon in the beautiful Sahara desert.
After waking up, we will go to a local hotel where you can freshen up and have a complimentary breakfast before we travel to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will visit Berber villages and the Todra and Dades Gorge. We will stop at a local hotel in the Dades Gorge for the night and have a complimentary dinner.
After breakfast, we will continue our tour towards Ouarzazate along the path of a thousand Kasbahs (fortresses). We will stop at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the Valley of Roses, which is famous for its annual Rose Festival.
Next, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, which is known for being used as a filming location for Hollywood movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator, as well as the popular HBO series Game of Thrones.
We will then take the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass to Marrakesh, where we will spend the night at a local hotel.
This day will be dedicated to exploring the city of Marrakesh. You will visit the main attractions such as the famous Jamma el Fna square, Koutoubia mosque, souk, Royal Palace, and several museums. We will also visit the modern part of the city called Gueliz, including the Menara Gardens and Marjolle, before ending the tour at your hotel/airport.
