4 Day Desert Tours from Fes to Marrakech, 2 Nights in the desert

On the first day of our 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will travel to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its alpine-style architecture and atmosphere. From there, we will head to the Cedar Forest to observe the freedom of the barbarian apes. Our journey will then take us through the landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where we will stop for lunch and drive along the Ziz Valley. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to see the palm tree groves and adobe houses of the region. Next, we will visit the capital dates of Erfoud city to see its date market and then continue on to Merzouga. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed with mint tea at our Riad or hotel and spend the night there.

On the first day, we will drive you to the Khamlia village, home to black skinned people who came from the Sub-Sahara. You will learn about their history and enjoy their traditional Gnawa music. We will then take an off-road drive to visit Berber nomad families living in traditional tents near the border of Algeria. Next, you will visit the Mifis mine to see the daily adventures of the Berbers working in pits that are about 30 meters deep. Afterwards, we will visit more nomadic families living in hand-made tents and see a palm tree oasis. Finally, you will embark on a camel trekking adventure across the golden dunes, enjoying the silence of the desert and stopping to watch the stunning sunset. In the evening, you will be entertained with local music around the fire and spend the night under the starry sky.

On the day 3 of our 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will wake up early to catch a stunning view of the sunrise. Afterwards, we will head to Rissani, an old city with a traditional way of life and a souk that uses mules and donkeys as a means of transportation. We will also visit the old irrigation system and see the palm tree groves along our way to the Todra Gorges, a natural oasis that runs alongside a canyon and is a popular spot for rock climbers. We will then visit the Rock Formation known as the monkey fingers and continue on to the Dades Gorges. Finally, we will check into our local accommodation in the mountains for the night.

On the final day of our 4-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will depart after breakfast and head to the Rose Valley, where we will see Kasbahs on both sides of the road and have the chance to discover rose products like rose water and perfumes. We will also visit Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa due to its cinema studio where movies such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones have been filmed. From there, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, known for its architectural adobe houses. We will then drive through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass for panoramic views of the stretching mountains and a visit to an argan oil cooperative.
