Wake up early to catch a glimpse of the stunning sunrise from your desert camp. After freshening up with a hot shower and a hearty breakfast, you will return to the village of Merzouga on camels or in a 4x4 vehicle. From there, we will head to the traditional town of Rissani, which was once a major trading route for caravans and is the birthplace of Morocco's current dynasty. The town is known for its active souk, or market, where you can find a variety of spices, crafts, and even a sheep and cattle market. Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the rich culture of this historic town.
After exploring Rissani, we will embark on a journey through the Tafilalet oases to the village of Tinjdad. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about the operation of the Khettara, a traditional underground irrigation system used to water oases and groves. We will then continue on to Touroug village, where you can visit an Amazigh or Berber cooperative to see traditional clothes and even try some on for yourself. Next, we will make our way to the breathtaking Todra Gorges in Tinghir, where you can see rock formations that attract climbers from around the world. From there, we will head to the Dades Valley, also known as the valley of figs, where you can see rock formations that resemble monkey fingers. At the end of the day, we will retire to a cozy Riad for dinner and the night.
